My IE 6.0.2900.2180 Will NOT hold the log-in name for different web sites.?

I have had this problem for quite a while. I type in the log-in password and or ID#. Next time I return it is gone. Where do I go or what must I do to change this? Windows OS XP will not hold the info.

click tools -%26gt; internet options. then click the content tab. click the autocomplete button and tick whatever you want a website to remember, hope this helps
