Go to Tools-%26gt;Internet Options-Switch to Programs Tab and click the button 'Make Default' under Default web browser section.

Open My Computer
open Tools
open Folder Options
choose File Types tab
scroll down to htm and html files
select one of them
make sure "Opens with" below is Internet Explorer
if not, press Change button, and choose it from the list
Click on start, then select Set program Access and Defaults, then a box will come up, click on custom, then on Choose a default Web Browser select Internet Explorer and click ok.
