Make sure that u r logged in as the Administrator, and try again changing the home page again.

The software installation window will not come up nor does the yellow bar with edit options.

try to go to CONTROLL PANELL %26gt; ADD / REMOVE PROGRAMS and then find the IE on the list. Click CHANGE and it should fix wahtever is wront with your IE

Ring up a branch where she is at and have someone there deliver special, lol, or otherwise send DHL, they give some extra special treatment that when they get there you won't recognize it at all

IE7 sucks. Literally. It sucks your system memory cache and it is programmed to load graphics before text instead of text before graphics like IE6. I had to reinstall Windows when I took out IE7 and tried to revert to IE6. One guy I talked to put it perfectly: Internet Explorer 7 has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and there is no cure.
You should probably check to see that you still have a recovery CD for windows before you try to take IE7 off. I was lucky. I was at my tech school when I discovered that IE7 can take your operating system out when it vacates the premises. Be sure that you can put Windows back on before you try to take IE 7 off.

Switching to Mozilla would be a really bad idea since all the security features in Vista are only available when Internet Explorer is used. it would be an old version of internet explorer, if the error is CAN'T BE DISPLAYED.. use a new version.. 6 or 7..
some pages need a special plug in, like flash player or java... is it only a page, or any website?
Your cookie settings are too high. Some pages are rejected totally for this reason. Go to Tools, Internet Options, Security, and turn down the security setting to Medium / Medium High. Alot of sites / webpages require cookies to be transferred and you could argue this is a security risk but you wont see the pages unless you allow cookies.
Alternatively your firewall, anti-virus or antispyware programme(s) may be selecting which sites you can see. Refer to their settings to find out- some have a blacklist of websites which they will not access to protect you.
Finally, you may have some virus or trojan on your PC which is redirecting your PC from the intended webpages to bad sites when you click. In this case you're getting the warning message because the virus or trojan was originally released some time ago and the webpage it is trying to redirect you to is no longer maintained. Do a full scan for spyware, adware, viruses and trojans.

Cookies
History..

This is how the change is made....probably by some spyware or some wanna be hacker type that has used your PC
[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Int... Explorer\Main
Modify/Create the Value Name according to the Value Data listed below.
Data Type: REG_SZ [String Value] // Value Name: Window Title
Value Data: [Enter The Text Desired In Title Bar]
Exit Registry and Reboot
To fix all you probably will have to do is click start button
then click run
type regedit
navigate in the left window pane to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\I... Explorer\Main
then double click where you see 'Hacked by Moozilla' in the right hand side window pane then just delete it or replace it with 'riksater is a mega hacker' :) Or whatever you like.
Alternativly just delete the registry value [Window Title]

This is mainly caused by attaching an infected pen drive
most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.
